What you will need for this:
A Glass bottle (or plastic but glass looks cool with a cork)
A Message
Ribbon
Something to put in the bottom (optional but recommended)
Something to tie around the top (optional)
First you get in your car and you drive to your nearest craft/home decor store and you purchase a bottle with a cork. The one I used was a triangle shaped bottle and it was supposed to be $4.99 but it was on sale for half off. I also went back to the scrapbooking section and found a piece of paper that looked like sand to write my message on and some seashells to put in the bottom. So all you need to do is take all of that stuff home and assemble it.
The message was by far the hardest part. After a long fight with my level of intelligence and the internet I finally came up with a message that sounded kind of like an SOS message. Here it is:
SOS!
help! i am stranded
without a date for sadie hawkin’s and i would love it if you could rescue me!
i request your assistance asap! There are pirates in these waters and i would hate to be
captured by one of them instead!
i promise that
we’ll have a great time while we are at the dance!
the sun must be
getting to me… that explains the awesome capitalization mistakes!
sincerely,
shipwrecked
To hide my name in the message, I simply went through the message and capitalized letters that would spell out my name. However, with some slight note modification, you could just put your name on whatever you use to fill the bottom. You could tie balloons to it even if you wanted to.
You could include a cake or some other treat if your heart so desired as well.
So there you have it, a less common and incredibly easy way to ask, answer, or seek to be rescue with! I hope this was helpful to you!
Good luck!
