So why not bake a cake?



This is a wonderful way to just say what you need to say and get it over with. It's simple and to the point and, if you had it to them yourself, you'll get your answer right away.  There are thousands of different takes you can play with this.

It says in the little story about it that the girl used the Pokeball from a reference to an inside joke between her and the boy, but if you are fortunate enough to be nicknamed after a certain Pokemon you could certainly play off of that as well as a number of other things.

If you're an Alice in Wonderland fan you could certainly use this technique. Using fondant isn't something I would recommend unless you know the other person really likes sugar/frosting and if you know how to use it. You could also change the wording to suit your personality, friendship, whatever dance it is, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Now you're probably wondering how you're going to get your name or answer into your cake. You could do this a number of ways including just writing your name on it, flags on top with the scrambled letters of the persons name, Scrabble pieces baked into the cake, a laminated card, written on chocolate strawberries, on a piece of paper under the aluminum foil (if you use a cardboard base you'll want to use foil. A cardboard and tinfoil base makes it so you don't have an awkward moment if you have to ask for the plate back), etc.
